Introductory Letter

Hello!  I am Mr. Woodson and I am so excited to be working with your children in choir this school year.  We will be working very hard on repertoire for the year as we get ready for our upcoming concerts.  I will be teaching your children skills that may be new to them such as sight-reading and working on ear training and perfecting diction of all different languages.  I will be teaching your students about a various amount of composers and their backgrounds so they learn about the history behind songs we are learning in class.  I will prompt questions that may bring up discussion about what different songs mean to them based on the pieces we are learning.

As a teacher, I will teach responsible behaviors to your students and I have strategies in place that will establish harmony in the classroom.  Each students will be actively engaged and I will have several activities throughout the year to engaged you as the parents.  I will also build positive relationships with your children.

I encourage all the parents to voice your concerns if you are not pleased with anything going on in the classroom.  I would love to meet each and every one of you so I can connect, communicate, and collaborate as we work together to make this year a successful year.  It takes teamwork to make success.  I am excited to meet all of you soon.  I would like to have a beginning of the year choir meeting with the parents so I can give information about all the events for the year.  I would like some volunteers to help out with these events so I can’t wait to meet you at this event.  You can continue to keep up to date on my webpage with upcoming events and blogs for each of my choir classes!

Truly yours,

Mr. Matthew Woodson
